This old photo is a picture of Jack Pollman falling an eight foot diameter old growth Douglas Fir. It was taken near Wobbly Creek on the Cispus, near Randle, Washington in 1971. Jack was a loyal customer when Madsen's was a small and unknown saw shop. Jack fell timber like this for over forty years.

Jack was a huge man -- in stature and character. His size fifteen calked boots weighed as much as a power saw, and his heart was just as big. Having him as a friend and customer was a real pleasure. Jack is gone now, but the memory of a truly great man lives on with all who knew him.
