This series of photos was taken by Paul Smithson on an early morning job along side a narrow road near the entrance to Olympic National Park west of Port Angeles, Washington. Paul is an excellent photographer who uses a professional grade camera. These are some of the best quality images on our site.

The cutter is Brian Borde and he is using a 066 Magnum that's been Power Tuned by Madsen's. On it he's got a 32" Oregon PowerMatch bar and is running 3/8" Oregon Semi-skip chain.

The local PUD is standing guard in the background. These trees are being removed because the pose a danger to some high voltage lines. Brian wants a perfect undercut. Even though he is an experienced faller, he is still tense about falling this accurately. It is always harder cutting close to wires and roads. -- especially with an audience.

Timbberrr! Brian is getting out of there. He is moving so fast, he blurred the image.

Dwight Addleman is the trucker and because the grapple wouldn't fit had to use a sling under the butt section to load it.

It doesn't take many of logs like this to make a load. Thank you Paul and Brian for these great images.
